The Munchie Struggle

Are you a snacker? Do you find yourself confused about how your hand ended up in the cookie jar ALL ON IT’S OWN?

” My hands made me do it, it wasn’t my choice I swear!”– Real quote from yours truly

First of all,  I always…and I mean always get the munchies at the most inconvenient times. It’s either to late, I don’t have the energy to make something elaborate ( like from scratch uber healthy granola bars) or I just want ALL the bad food and don’t have anything to quite satisfy that specific craving.

Enough is Enough! Give Me Something Healthy!

After a few weeks of being the most angry…I finally did some research and as a result, I found some QUICK and EASY healthy snacks.

5 Quick & Easy Healthy Snacks

The following five have been my favorite so far!  I feel like they are the easiest and yummiest, and most of all make me the happiest. ( Hangry Meli isn’t pleasant) haha

I hope you enjoy these as much as I did! If you have any of your own PLEASE help a sister out and share in the comments below!

Happy Snacking!

1. Sweet Potato Fries

Yes, you read that correctly, that does say FRIES. Yes, this does take a little prep but the key thing here is to bake them. You want to keep all that extra vitamin A and C that Sweet potato fries often lose from the heat in the oil.

2. Fruit & Nuts

Pairing your favorite fruit with your favorite nut will satisfy that salty sweet combo that most of us crave so often. My favorite is strawberries with cashews. (mmm)

3. Donuts

Okay, okay. These aren’t really donuts…but if you slice apples, cut out the middle, add some PB or some of that healthy Nutella spread (more deets on this below), and sprinkle a little bit of cinnamon on top…it sorta tricks your mind into thinking its a donut right?…no? Ok! Still, try this out. It’s so delicious.

4. Healthy Nutella on Toast or Fruit

“Healthy Nutella eh?” Trust me on this one.

All you have to do is mix the following ingredients all together and put it on toast or use as a dip for fruit.

  • 1 tablespoon of unsweetened nut butter. (your preference…however almond butter taste wonderful
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of 100% pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup of raw cocoa powder

5.Smoothie Ice Cubes

Ever make a bigger portion of smoothie than you needed? Don’t throw it down the drain! Save that deliciousness for later!

Grab an ice try, pour the remainder of your smoothie and freeze!

When you’re getting a craving, simply pop one out the freezer and enjoy!

BONUS: Here’s a bonus and probably the one I go to most often. Good old fashioned POPCORN. (Light or NO Butter)
